News Release

This was my first time attempting to do a news release, and thankfully my group had a PR major to help us through the process. It is important to include testimonials, your event's logo, the 5 W's, and proper contact information in the press release. I also learned that you are never supposed to use the word "you" when doing a press release. The format of press releases is very strict; do not try to move things around. This paper is our final news release, which announces the launch of our first annual wedding exposition.

Social Media Ad

Personally, I believe the most important thing I learned about social media advertisements is to actually put instructions in the advertisement. My group made the mistake of making the instructions for our "Free Ticket Friday" giveaway advertisement a caption for the advertisement instead of actually putting the instructions on the actual advertisement. I also learned contact information is the most crucial part of social media. This includes all websites, social media, and phone numbers. This slideshow consists the multiple social media ads my group made to market our event.

Brochure and Flyer Poster

The biggest thing I learned about making posters and brochures for an event is to never forget the sponsors in them. Initially, I made very simple yet elegant posters strictly about our event, but I was told you must always include sponsors somewhere on the marketing materials. The 5 W's and contact information are also a very important piece when designing these types of marketing materials. Finally, when designing a brochure, I learned that it never hurts to include a little bit of background information about your company so people can start to develop a relationship with your company. Brochures and posters are important because they are marketing materials. If you want people to come to your event you have to market your event and get the word out.

Sponsorship Proposal

Sponsors make or break your event. They are the companies and/or people funding of your event. This paper goes into detail on the level of sponsorships our event has, the benefits of each sponsorship level, and how much sponsors must donate in order to gain the benefits the various levels have.
