Event Principles

Strategic planning is a very important aspect of events. It is never too early to start planning. However, you can only plan for so much. If you are going to run events, you have to be able to think on your feet and pull stuff together last minute. Situations come up and happen, so you have to be able to fix them when they pop up.

Event Contracts

Event contracts are various terms and conditions that are made between vendors, entertainers, venues, companies, etc. Contracts state fees, payment information, general information about the event, contact information, liability and negligence terms, a Force Majeure clause, on-site information, etc.

Job Descriptions

Being very detailed with your job descriptions is important because you have to attract the right people to apply for the job. Without a job description, people won't know what they are expected to do.

Vendor Guidelines

Vendor guidelines states the expectations of the vendor. The guidelines state the fees and payment information, booth information, on-site vendor information, the purpose of the event and general information about the event, and contact information.

Site Checklist and Site Map

Site check lists are important because they show the positives and negatives of every aspect of your event. Site maps are important because they are a detailed diagram of your site layout and venue. They include aspects of your event like tables, chairs, tents, entrances/exits, emergency exits, elevators, bathrooms, parking, etc. Both of these documents need to be able to be used by emergency personnel to navigate your event.
